Every 6 minutes of focus earns 1 minute of social time, so 60 minutes earns 10. Once you have 10 minutes, tap Spend 10 min on Today: your apps open for 10 minutes, then lock again by themselves. Unspent minutes expire at midnight.
Apple’s Screen Time is the only system that can really lock apps on iOS. Ottly decides when; Apple does the locking, entirely on your iPhone. Ottly never sees which apps you picked or how long you use them.
If you have 10 minutes earned, spend them. If not, a focus session gets you there. In a real emergency, turn off Ottly’s Screen Time access in iOS Settings → Screen Time, or delete Ottly: every lock lifts immediately. Don’t lock apps you need for emergencies or safety.
An optional second lock. Turn it on during setup or in Settings → Weekly move rule. While it’s on, you can spend minutes only if you closed your Move ring or did a workout of 20 minutes or more since the same weekday last week. A move on Saturday keeps spending open through next Saturday. Turning the rule on gives you 7 days of grace. Focusing always earns, whatever the rule says. Turn it off any time in Settings, or from the lock message on Today.
Open Ottly and tap I moved — check again. If it still doesn’t count, check these:
During long sessions you start yourself, Ottly asks “Still focusing?” every 90 minutes. Answer within 10 minutes (from the notification or the app) and the session keeps going. If nobody answers, the session ends at the moment Ottly asked, so only real focus time counts. Scheduled focus blocks end on their own and don’t ask.
Same app, new name, new deal: the alarm clock is gone, and your social apps stay locked until you earn them by focusing. Setup starts fresh, so pick your apps again, and your streak restarts at day one. Your subscription carries over.
To cancel: App Store → your profile → Subscriptions → Ottly. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period. To restore on a new iPhone, tap Restore purchases in Ottly’s Settings or on the subscription screen.
Settings → Anonymous analytics turns analytics off at once. Everything else lives only on your iPhone, so deleting Ottly deletes it. Details in the Privacy Policy.
